Fake Websites Offering Indian e-visas

As per information from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi a number of complaints have been received from applicants who applied for e-visa on fake websites and in the process were duped of hundreds of dollars in terms of the fees charged by such websites.

Following unauthorised and fake third party websites are offering Indian e-Visa to foreign nationals, cheat and dupe them of their money:

3. According to available information the genesis of the problem lies in the Google Search engine. Anyone who performs a Google Search for e-Visa to India, the result throws up the following links and almost all the time, these links are displayed ahead of the actual Government of India website for e-Visa.
